God is a God of action. He's constantly on the move. He loves to create and make all things new. Through His words, everything was formed - and it only took a week!
When He saw man, stuck in sin and depravity, He acted once again. He didn't wait around for man to figure out a way on his own. God knew that, without Himself, man's salvation was impossible. So, He sent Jesus, and Jesus was all about action.
"I'm sent to do the will of Him who sent me," Jesus said in John 6:39. By Jesus' self-less actions, we have been given a chance to be reconciled to God.
Thanks be to God, for His actions! Whenever and wherever God said "GO," Jesus went. We are called to be like Jesus.
The Father's eyes are always searching for people of action, those who are willing to "GO" where He is sending them. To be like Jesus, it takes action.
Are you ready? Are you on your mark, and set?
As we examined in Friday's post, Abraham was chosen by God and told to "GO." His responses to the Father's directions always drew him closer to his creator. Abraham's obedience and willingness to move showed God that he was listening.
Even more importantly than listening, Abraham's obedeience showed God that he was willing to act on the commands of his creator. God loves when we act on his commands.
"Then he (Abram) believed in the Lord, and it was credited to him as righteousness."
Righteous living begins with abandoning our own plans and, like Jesus, doing the will of the Father. More than just doing what He says to do, He's looking for people who will GO where He leads. Every journey starts with the first step. A step is action.
Where is God leading you today? What has He been telling you to do? Who are you supposed to reach out to?
What would happen if you stopped procrastinating, and decided that today is the day. Like Abraham, it's time to GO.
Sadly, we often put off for years something that could be accomplished in an hour.
But that "do it later" mindset is not the mind of Christ.
Now is the time of God's favor. Today is the day of salvation.
On your mark... Get set... GO!!!
