Thankful

It's the time of year that causes us to stop and reflect as we wonder in awe how it can already be the end of November! In full honesty, my tendency is to critique every little thing I did not get done this year. I could easily fall into the comparison trap, the woulda/shoulda's, and feel guilty or inadequate. But God. I'm learning that God's timeline is the one that really matters. And that sometimes not doing is exactly what He asks of me.
This year has been busy, of course, committing hours to start up paperwork, building a website, and designing a logo, prayer cards, and table top display. I'm thankful for all the people that helped me and encouraged me along the way. I'm thankful for our most recent trip to Guatemala loving on the widows and children there. But now what I really want is to be "joyfully going, joyfully doing" full time! What the Lord is teaching me though, is that I must be ready to rely on Him. I'm reminded of 1 Chronicles 16:27 that reads "strength and joy are in His dwelling place." So that is where you will find me: seeking Him first, worshiping Him when I feel like it and when I don't, and studying His Word. I'm thankful for this season as I learn what not doing really means; as I grow in faith, trust, and confidence in Him.
I'm thankful that I know who I am in Christ and what He has created me for. I'm thankful that He has a plan and a purpose for this ministry that is greater than I could ever dare to imagine, one that will reflect the glory due His name.
